Looe, Mevagissey and Tintagel

East and West Looe

These twin towns are situated on the shores of the Looe river. East Looe is full of many narrow streets whilst West Looe has a 14th century Church and the "Jolly Sailor" which is a smuggler's Inn.

Mevagissey

Mevagissey is a small fishing village with twin harbours. The harbour is a working one and many of the catches made such as lobster and skate are served at the waterside pubs and restaurants. A full range of local fish can be seen at The Old Lifeboat House Aquarium.

Tintagel

Home to the legendary King Arthur's Castle (below left), Tintagel is a tranquil village containing The Old Post Office (below right) which was a 14th century Manor House around which the village grew. The original name for Tintagel was "Trevena".
